Pet Telemedicine
When to Use Veterinary Telemedicine
Some examples of issues that our telemedicine service can help with include:
- Certain behavioral problems
- Flea allergies or other chronic recurring issues
- Acute onset of mild limping
- Mild diarrhea
Our veterinarian telemedicine services also serve as a simple alternative to an in-person follow-up appointment and offer an option for pet parents with pets who struggle with chronic medical concerns. Dr. Reynolds may also be able to fill out or refill prescriptions for you without seeing your pet in person.
When to Seek In-Person Treatment
Telemedicine is a helpful tool for minor physical and emotional ailments. However, there are times when further medical intervention is needed. Telemedicine does a good job of treating symptoms, but seeing us in person may be necessary to get to the root of the problem.
In-person veterinary assistance is necessary for most diagnostic testing such as bloodwork, ultrasounds, and radiographs (X-rays). Also, it is necessary to see a veterinarian if your pet has experienced a serious physical injury.
